In the video about V-Day, there is a quote by Jane Fonda “Women are being transformed by art.” What does she mean by this? How is this production making a difference, or is it just entertainment?
Women are being transformed by art means that women are using art to express how they feel, or any situation that they went through. This production is making a difference becauseits helping women all across the world to come together and reunite and speak on something that they all can relate on.i dont think its an educational entertainment.
Women who have experienced devastated time in their lifetime, creatively found a way of expressing themselves to others who can relate to their stories. It is somewhat entertaining because they do add humor to some of the stories. It can also helped other females to be aware of potential danger and to be extra vigilant of their action.
I think the comment "Women are being transformed by art" means that women all around the world that have been abused or intimadated by men because of their sex can now feel confident and strong by these production. The Vaginal Monologue helps women talk about their problems and fears and creates a safe environment where it's okay to be a woman and to feel empowered. So women all around the world who is effected by the monologue change and transform into something more than a woman but into an empowered and fearless Human. ...............Richardson
I feel the quote "Women are being transformed by art" relates to how women are now able to tell their testimony through such as making a poem or doing a stand up comedy for what they have gone through in their lives. The Vanginal Monologue helps women all across the world overcome their fears and become a stronger women within themsleves.
"Women being transformed" means that women are able to speak up now as there are other women around them who went through the same experiences as they did. They were either raped, molested or abused. This production has made a difference now for women as they are able to face their fears by doing the monologue by saying the stories they experienced or by making jokes. This is a good way for women around the world if they have dealt with the same problems. This can help them oveercome their inner fears.
Women are now thinking of different ways to send messeges to other women. Theatre is being transformed to better appeal to more women.It is entertaining and at the same time has a powerful effect causing its audience be more aware. It teaches women and explains to men that they dont have to feel victimized neither do they have to be afraid to talk about their vagina and its experiences.
To me this means that women are being transformed by art through poems, songs, paintings ect. Women use these different types of art to express themselves; whether it be because of pain, happiness or laughter, they find these different arts a way of transformation to escape from "reality". Women all around the world now can have the opportunity to express our self without being vulnerable to our audience or confidante. We may retell our stories without feeling ashamed, blamed or even insane. We may show others our experiences through art which actually gives us strength. Through art we teach people while entertaining because by someone telling their situation it will make others more aware and probably save many from going through the same thing.

I think what jane really is that women have been influence by the new society how they should look in other for them to be beautiful,so they use their body in a art formed another for them to be someone they really not.for instance women now are using all type of cosmetic like plastic surgery,ect, to lift up any part of there body to feel beauty.
