What were you thinking when you had to make choices on how to portray your character? Did you think about: What is my character’s voice? How do I walk? How do I speak? What words do I choose? What costume does my character wear? Elaborate on your acting process in this exercise and the challenges you had to face in this performance.
In our group performance i chose to be the the dumb football jock who only cares about football and nothing else. All he wanted to do was date cheerleaders and win football games! He always had a habit of being popular around school and wear his football jersey's to school everyday to act tough. I really had fun playing this role as this gave more understanding of what real football jokes are like and how they interpret it the same. In my performance i had to date a nerd in order to graduate high school and was willing to do it just to be done with school. I had higher expectations but football bought me down. i also had to break up with the ex girlfriend as this was my promise to the nerd. I had kept my word. This also gave the nerd to be popular just like the other regular girls.
ReplyDeleteWhen developing my character, i had to be very careful with what i did and said and responded to the other character. My purpose was to portray a geek without interupting the process with my own personality. There were times that i found difficult to stay into character mode because of the audience watching and my own consciousness and thoughts. I think that the role and duties of the other characters had aloot to tdo with the way every other person was played, we each feed off of each other's energy in order to keep composure, confidence, and improv flowing successfully.

When choosing characters I played the role of a high school cool kid. He was a pretty chilled, easygoing person with a lending ear if anyone wanted advice or just wanted a person to confide to. This character reflected my own personality as I am a trustworthy person, I like the urban look, and I'm chilled guy who likes to have a good time.
ReplyDeleteAs for my role as a high school teacher, I rolled with this character despite the difference my personality has with it. The teacher was down to business and didn't tolerate and nonsense.
I was Tonya the trouble maker,my character was pretty much the antogonist. the challenging part for me was to be rude and mean to people.Basically to really get into my character
